Every year several organisations each announce their own 'colour of the year'. They are forecasts and marketing decisions by different bodies with different aims, and there is no single official one. This section tracks each authority separately and asks the question the announcements do not: did anything happen afterwards?
Announcements are recorded by name only; no proprietary colour value or catalogue is reproduced. An announcement is never treated as evidence of a trend. Observed market data is kept in a separate record and only linked where it exists.
