What Colourwise actually processes

This is Colourwise’s specific processing schedule, not a generic list of things a HEKNO product could theoretically do. Colourwise does not have accounts, payments, a newsletter, or an active advertising or affiliate network — see below for what changes if that becomes true.

• Analytics. Google Analytics 4 loads only after you explicitly grant consent via the consent banner — no analytics or marketing pixels load before that. GA4 records aggregate, IP-anonymised usage events (pages viewed, tools used); it never receives raw search terms or colour-code inputs. See cookies.
• Search & tool signals. To find gaps in the catalogue, Colourwise records what was searched or adjusted and whether a search returned a result. Typed search text is held as real free text (it is not anonymised), but it is never linked to a name, account, IP address or cookie value, is kept in server memory only (no persistent database is connected in production, so it does not survive a redeploy), and is never sent to GA4 or any third party.
• Corrections you submit. The suggest a correction form stores the category, the page it refers to, your details, and an optional source reference and contact email — held in server memory only, reviewed by a person before any change is made, never auto-published.
• Security & abuse prevention. Requests to the correction form are rate-limited using the requesting IP address; this is used only to block excessive submissions and is not linked to submission content.
• Accounts. No account system is active, so no account data is collected.
• Advertising & affiliate links. Ownership-verification infrastructure exists in the codebase for a possible future launch, but no advertising network or affiliate programme is currently connected — see advertising policy and affiliate disclosure.

Suppliers and hosting

Colourwise is hosted on Vercel. Where analytics consent is granted, usage events are processed by Google Analytics 4. No personal information is sent to an AI supplier — see methodology.

Retention

Search/tool signals and correction submissions are held in server memory only and do not persist across a redeploy or restart. GA4 retains aggregate analytics data under Google’s standard retention settings once consent is granted.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict information, object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and safeguards relating to solely automated decisions. Colourwise does not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you by automated means. To exercise a right or raise a data-protection complaint, contact privacy@hekno.co.uk. HEKNO Ltd will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay; you may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

Colourwise is not intentionally directed at children.

Security

HEKNO Ltd uses proportionate technical and organisational measures, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure. To report a security issue, email hello@hekno.co.uk with “Security” in the subject.
